Baccarat Banque

There are two major variations of baccarat banque, and they are quite different from each other. The first variation is quite similar to European baccarat.

In this first variation of baccarat banque, the house acts as the bank; however, there are two major differences as compared to European baccarat. First, there are three total hands dealt, one banker hand, and two players. Players may bet on either one of the playing hands. The second difference is that players cannot bet on bank.

The second variation of baccarat banque bears more resemblance to Chemin de Fer. Like Chemin de Fer, players act as the bank; however, the responsibility of being the banker remains with that player until the player either voluntarily retires the position, runs out of funds to bet with, or reaches the bottom of the deck. One of two methods determines the initial banker: either the player willing to risk the largest amount of money is first or the first person on the list is made the banker. Baccarat banque is played with fewer decks of cards than other forms of baccarat. Typically, three decks are used, although some casinos may use two or four decks.

Like the first variation, the banker deals three hands, with one player’s hand pertaining to the players on the left side of the dealer, and the other with the players on the right. Drawing rules and betting rules are the same as those for Chemin de Fer.
